“My work pulls from the nostalgia of cartoons, comic books, hip hop, and film. As a kid these were my four food groups. That incessant exposure to pop culture still influences my work. It often involves a joke, a song lyric, or a scene from a movie. Sometimes it’s simply a great color scheme. But it's always personal and I told myself I'd never put anything into the public eye that I wouldn't hang on my own wall. The style between works can differ greatly, but so does day to day circumstance. Art world traditionalists will advise you to pick a style and stick with it, but I've never had much use for tradition. As a result, some pieces are dark and bleak, and others are polished and vivid.
